The Captain is Dead (AEG) - Sleeve Friendly Insert
thingiverse
The factory insert that comes with "The Captain is Dead" game is a nice touch, but it's not exactly sleeve-friendly. The idea behind the deck boxes is that they can be used directly on the game board where needed. There's plenty of extra space for future expansions. Everything fits together perfectly, and if I were to reprint this or add any expansions in the future, I'd adjust the dimensions slightly. This insert requires the foam torpedo holder from the original insert. To print the components, you'll need the following files: TCiD-Battle_Plans.stl, TCiD-Torpedo_Riser_and_Tools.stl, TCiD-Skills.stl, and TCiD-Alerts.stl. You'll also need two copies of TCiD-Battle_Plans.stl, one copy of TCiD-Alien Bin.stl, and a combination of four medium-sized crew bins and three small ones (TCiD-Crew Bin-Medium.stl and TCiD-Crew Bin-Small.stl). These last items are not square in shape and have to be oriented correctly for them to fit inside the box. Due to the lip that connects the components, supports are required for two specific parts: TCiD-Torpedoes_and_Markers.stl and TCiD-Battle_Plans.stl. I used Ultra Pro penny sleeves for the poker-sized cards in my setup, but there's still some extra room available for premium sleeves. Before printing, please verify that you have enough space by using design software like 3D Builder or TinkerCAD.
