The Candy Hand
grabcad
As a volunteer team in Kiev, our main focus has been on EMG and motor components of robotic prostheses. However, we recently decided to tackle the mechanics, driven by this challenge and its deadline. We have made significant progress on the fingers, printing and testing them while designing. Despite these achievements, there are still areas requiring improvement, such as adding blocking overhangs to prevent backward finger movement and creating covers for all fingers and fingertips, best printed with flexible plastic. We also recognize that our thumb and palm designs need further development due to time constraints. In the palm design, we believe separate and dynamic metacarpals contribute to flexibility and dexterity, so we have included them along with finger and palm covers. Our team's efforts are supported by ball bearings, M3 and M2 bolts, non-flexible strong cables (Dyneema), and the combined skills of Dmitry Dziuba, Kseniia Kyrylyshena, Arsen Savchuk, and Alina Savchenko.
