The Calibrator: A Handy Levelling Aid for Replicator 3D Printers To ensure top-notch results with your Replicator s, correct levelling of its base is crucial. While there are numerous tools available on Thingiverse, such as the Replicator Bed Level Jig and Vernier Calliper Bed Leveller, this project showcases an innovative solution using a disassembled digital sliding caliper. The key components needed for 'The Calibrator' are the display and ruler from the caliper. The glue securing the ruler must be removed to enable smooth sliding movement. By printing the provided contraption on your 3D printer, you can create a precise levelling tool. Ensure the slot for the ruler is adjusted for easy sliding. The Calibrator is held in place by two magnets inserted into the feet, with round magnetic discs measuring 10 x 2 mm recommended. To maintain accuracy and prevent damage to your printer surface, consider adding a more robust tip to the ruler, such as a steel ball with smooth edges. To level your building plate, simply move the Calibrator's tip over each screw and adjust them for equal height in all four positions. You don't have to set the exact printing height during levelling. Once completed, you're ready for precise 3D printing!
