The Buzenol milestone
thingiverse
The milestone marking the Buzenol milestone, dating back to 44 CE, is a stone monument discovered in the Lower Empire's fortification stretching from Montauban to Buzenol, situated in Luxembourg province. The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (located within the Musée du Cinquantenaire in Brussels) houses this relic, captured using RealityCapture technology. Initially placed along the Reims-Trier road, this stone marker signifies a 54-mile distance between it and Trier. It was erected during Emperor Claudius's reign in 44 AD, as part of his efforts to construct this thoroughfare. The inscription on the stone reads: "Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, great high priest, vested with the fourth power of tribunice, hailed as a victorious general for the eighth time, appointed consul for the fourth time, and honored father of the nation. From Trier, 54 thousand steps." To stay updated on more discoveries like this one, please consider following me on Twitter at @GeoffreyMarchal. https://twitter.com/GeoffreyMarchal
