This is a sketch of one of my proposals for the challenge: Conceptual Design Challenge: Artificial Gravity for Human Colonies on the Moon and Mars, which is part of a work for the subject Synthesis of Mechanisms and Machines, taught by the teachers: Marcelo Valderrey, Ruben Lupi and Alexis BregantThis proposal takes as a reference the most viable principle for the generation of artificial gravity and one of the most represented in science fiction for this purpose, the use of centrifugal force.By rotating the ring at 4 RPM, we will be able to generate a radial acceleration equal to that of Earth's gravity. The system is inspired by MAGLEV high-speed trains, for more information visit: https://sites.tufts.edu/eeseniordesignhandbook/2015/maglev-magnetic-levitating-trains/Each module is free to rotate around its own axis, which gives the system the versatility to adapt angularly at every moment to the resulting acceleration between gravitational and centrifugal.I want to give credits to Vince S for his contribution to the challenge (Martian Habitat Concept), which was an inspiration to make my own design.
