The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara

The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara

thingiverse

Originating from China during the Song dynasty (approximately 1100-1200), this wooden figure depicts Avalokiteshvara in a regal posture, with his right hand resting on a bent knee and left hand extended in a gesture of bestowal. Dressed as an Indian prince in a flowing robe, the sculpture features intricate details such as sashes, scarves, and jewels adorning its chest. Distinctively, this Avalokiteshvara figure lacks the image of his spiritual father, Buddha Amitabha, on its crown. The image was captured using Autodesk 123D Catch on an iPhone and further refined online via 123D Catch.
