The Besti Toy (2.0)

What Drives the Creation?
Sometimes, straightforward answers can solve complex problems. I've been developing Besti, an adult-only virtual reality software, for approximately two years now. The game features cartoon horses as its main characters, which I believe is a nice touch. During this time, I have encountered several challenges that needed to be overcome. * Using non-human characters eliminates the "Uncanny Valley" issue, but it creates other problems and makes the game quite niche. * Providing professional voice acting and natural behaviors (eye movements, procedural movements, etc.) for the characters makes them appear alive. * A variety of sensors on the character allows it to be aware of you. Directly simulating your partner creates intimacy and gives the player a sense of two-way interaction. However, something was still missing - touch. Touch is difficult to achieve in virtual reality, especially when trying to create an intimate experience. I believe this device helps bridge that gap.
How It Works
This device serves as a way to easily attach your VR controller to another object. This is crucial because Besti allows you to move your partner around with the controller. The idea is to attach the VR controller to an adult toy and use it to control the character's movements in the virtual world. In the physical world, the character appears as an adult toy with a VR remote stuck to it, but in the virtual world, it's a living, breathing, talking cartoon character that is compelled to be physically and emotionally intimate with you. Besti has a quick calibration system when you interact with your friends so you can make what you see and what you're feeling to be in sync. With a little practice, you can create an extremely compelling experience that simulates sight, sound, and touch.
Attaching It to a Toy
The design of these devices focuses on flexibility, giving users various options for attachment. Velcro ties work well, but if you want to get creative, the loops are large enough for a leather strap. The device just needs to stay put on your adult toy, so you can use zip ties, tape, strings, or anything else to keep it attached.
Disclaimer/Other Info
While I haven't experienced any issues and neither has anyone else, I'm not liable for any harm that comes to your VR controllers by using this device. It holds onto the controller with friction in a gentle way, but these controllers were designed exclusively for human hands. You're on your own, and your warranty won't cover a remote broken via an unauthorized accessory. If you want to give it a shot and are an adult of legal age where you live, head over to the website to learn more! If you want to make remixes of this device, go for it! If you create a superior version or an adapter to fit better on a specific toy, let me know, and I can link it here.
Commercial Licensing/Distribution
Do you make a VR product that could benefit from this design? Get in touch with me, and we can discuss the details!
