The Benedictions
myminifactory
This is a 3D scan of the Cantor Foundation's "Benedictions" statue from the Portland Art Museum's "Auguste Rodin: The Human Experience" display, currently underway through April 2017. Delicate, lyrical figures like these are closely related to winged beings on "The Gates of Hell," particularly a group found in the upper portion of the left door. Despite their visual similarity with creatures on "The Gates," "Benedictions" seems to have been modeled in the late 1890s and was intended to crown a proposed monument honoring workers and "the glory of human effort."
