The BeeBar 3D print model

We all think of feeding the birds, but what about the bees? Let's be honest, bees are far more important to us humans than birds; they pollinate our food crops and without these highly efficient, hard-working little pollinators, it has been estimated that the human race would soon face extinction. I decided to do my bit for these valuable insects by leveraging the medium of 3D printing. (I must admit, despite knowing bees still sting, they are significantly less likely to sting than wasps, which are simply bullies). My ultimate goal was The BeeBar, a small tray with tiny raised islands that can be filled with water or sugar-water and left out for the bees to satisfy their thirst and regain their energy. ("Eww, I'll have to clean up the sugar water constantly!", you might complain, but yes, the bees desperately need it). The trays are printed in durable, weather-resistant ABS plastic and are available with or without the hanging cradle; You can position them on a flat surface somewhere or hang them somewhere convenient for the bees to easily find. (As expected, if you print it yourself, you will need to locate a suitable string to suspend it - three 300mm long threads should do). The BeeBar measures precisely 105mm x 105mm x 10mm.
