Comprised of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, they're widely regarded as the greatest rock act of all time.[1] Their sound evolved from skiffle to beat, 1950s rock 'n' roll, and later experimented with pop ballads, Indian music, psychedelia, and hard rock. The band's innovative approach often incorporated classical elements in groundbreaking ways. In the early 1960s, their massive popularity sparked "Beatlemania," but as their music matured, led by Lennon and McCartney, they became synonymous with the counterculture movement of the 1960s.
