Numerous details can be found in the PDF file available at this link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1jIRSxb_GoF7GN6scOOt2rhUVKlYzjMFJ. Our team, consisting of Eugene Juravliov, Callum Evans, Max Voloshenco, and Andy Haywood, carefully considered various concepts before deciding on an intriguing system. This innovative design collects moon regolith using a barrel with rotational movement and top pressure, reaching up to 10 cm deep samples. The main components include an inner filter, outside cage, and scoop. The inner filter collects small particles of the moon's fine regolith, while the outside cage gathers rocks in 1-2 cm diameter. The scoop secures samples when the system is not operating and rotates to push stuck rocks into the cage during operation. Our team believes this system has potential for success and future improvements, while wishing NASA a happy 60th anniversary!
