Assignment 2: Building a Sustainable Community Garden As part of our ongoing efforts to foster community engagement and promote environmental stewardship, we are excited to announce Assignment 2: Building a Sustainable Community Garden. This project is designed to bring together students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to develop innovative solutions for creating thriving urban gardens that benefit both people and the planet. The goal of this assignment is to provide students with hands-on experience in designing and implementing sustainable community garden projects. Through this process, participants will learn essential skills in horticulture, ecology, and community development while contributing to the well-being of their local environment. To participate in Assignment 2, please follow these steps: 1. Form a team of 3-5 students with diverse skill sets and interests. 2. Conduct research on existing community garden models and identify innovative approaches that can be adapted for your specific project site. 3. Develop a comprehensive plan for your community garden, including design, budget, and maintenance strategies. 4. Present your final plan to the class and engage in constructive feedback from peers. Throughout this assignment, we will provide guidance and support through regular workshops, guest lectures, and online resources.
