The Arrhenius sarcophagus (base)
myminifactory
The coffin is an intricately decorated wood gesso anthropoid sarcophagus with a wide broad collar featuring numerous figurative scenes and hieroglyphs, including passages from the Book of the Dead. This distinguishes the deceased occupant as a chantress, linking her to Osiris, god of the Underworld, and thereby ensuring her eternal passage through the Afterlife. The top of the sarcophagus can be accessed online. This object is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory. Through this project, we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access at no cost. Scan The World is an open-source community effort. If you have interesting items nearby that you'd like to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can participate.
