The Apology of Socrates
myminifactory
The Apology of Socrates, written by Plato, recounts the speech delivered by Socrates in his defense against charges of impiety and corruption, at his trial in 399 BC. This dialogue specifically addresses the accusations of corrupting the young and not believing in the gods that Athens revered, but instead worshiping other, unconventional deities (24b). Among the primary sources documenting the life and death of philosopher Socrates (469–399 BC), the Apology of Socrates is the only dialogue that depicts his trial. Along with Euthyphro, Phaedo, and Crito, this Socratic dialogue provides a detailed account of Socrates' final days.
