A historic pump stands at the intersection of Leadenhall Street and Fenchurch Street, its location steeped in the darker side of London's past. Once fed by an underground stream, this water source had been tainted by organic matter leaching from a nearby graveyard, resulting in the tragic loss of hundreds of lives. A wolf's head symbol atop the pump serves as a poignant reminder of the city's last remaining wild wolf, which was brought down in a final confrontation.
