Week 23 brings us the Acerbus Configuration, also known as "The Box of Divine Complexity". This intricate puzzle was designed by Steelgohst and is considered one of LeMarchand's most complex creations. It requires over 600 precise moves to open, with each separate plate having its own specific movement. The metal used for these plates varies across the surface, with some being silver and others made from osmium, a poisonous metal that can be fatal if absorbed through the skin. LeMarchand had previously used this metal on his box called "Enigme", but the Acerbus Configuration is unique in that it can be opened without touching the poisoned plates, provided the correct method is known. This requires the worker to have prior knowledge of the secret sequence of moves. Considering the complexity of the task, it's no wonder that only 256 people have successfully owned and solved this puzzle. The current owner of the manuscript detailing the box's moves has not retained ownership of the Acerbus Configuration itself. A British collector known as N.G., who also owns the original "Box of Grief", sold the box to an Armenian scholar for an undisclosed sum, but kept the manuscript for himself. Unfortunately, this collector disappeared before selling the manuscript, leaving behind only the first page and its secrets. The reason behind LeMarchand's creation of such a complex puzzle remains a topic of debate among enthusiasts. Some speculate that he wanted to keep it closed until after his death, allowing him to participate in the resulting chaos with powers promised by Leviathan. Whatever the motivation, The Acerbus Configuration remains one of LeMarchand's most mysterious and challenging designs. Download the manuscript now and take on the challenge.
