The Abraham family's bakery, a staple of the community in the 1950s, stood proudly on its current site before being demolished. The adjacent shops, still thriving today, were also part of the vibrant scene at that time. To provide context and highlight the bakery's former location, the adjacent buildings have been meticulously recreated as they appear now. Constructed around the same period as the nearby windmill, the bakery once received flour from the mill for use in its bread-making process. However, with the rise of large roller mills, which dominated flour production, the industry shifted, and companies like Hovis and Turog began to promote their own products. Given their rivalry, it was uncommon for both brands to be displayed on the same building, yet here they are side by side. The model has been carefully photo-matched to an original image from the FUW archive, ensuring accuracy. All original advertisements have also been sourced and incorporated to match the historical photograph.
