The 6-ring

The 6-ring

The twenty-four-sided tubular surface, known as a 6-ring, boasts a genus of 13 and is formed by carefully gluing together six rings of two interconnected Borromean rings. Each ring consists of twelve identical sides, adhering strictly to the regularity map R13.2′{12,3}. This intricate structure has twenty-four elements that mirror an oriented cube, making it highly compatible with the 6-coloring of R13.2′{12,3}. The surface exhibits minimal twisting and features geometrically equivalent sets of four twelve-sided polygons. To construct this highly symmetric surface, one must carefully pair two Borromean rings together and establish a precise mapping between the twelve-sided polygons.
