This is a remake of Dave Clarke's featured 3D Scanner: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1762299. I made modifications to meet my needs, added some updates that I found helpful, and tailored it to fit a Samsung Galaxy S7. I included the Sketchup file as well in case others find it useful; since I typically work scaled up, you'll notice a few copies of the components, a scaled-up set assembled, a properly sized set assembled, both broken down for easier work. Some changes from the original (the ones that come to mind): • The Cog Cover and Main Chassis were modified to allow it to be locked into place using short pieces of 1.75mm filament instead of screws found in other versions. • The Cog Cover was altered to have a dropped lip, keeping the Cog gear centered, with the bearing surface enlarged to reduce wobble and improve fit. • The Crank Wheel/Shaft was modified to increase its square shaft dimensions slightly, tightening the fit between it and the Gear. • The Crank Handle parts were reworked to add screw threads; the original didn't fit well for me and could be improved, allowing you to screw the handle parts together and keep them in place. • The Chassis was modified at the stopper/volume control level to fit the Galaxy S7 headphone volume control and provide clearance for the menu button. • The Stopper was rebuilt to fit the Galaxy S7 volume control and consistently hit the "Up" volume button. • The Main chassis was modified to add a relief to its corners, which meet in the middle, creating a lip to aid in part removal. • The Cradle was modified to fit the Galaxy S7, also accommodating the S6, S5, and S4. • The Chassis was modified to fit the slightly larger Galaxy S7 headphone 3.5mm Jack.
