The 1954 Oxygen Destroyer
thingiverse
Not many of these on Thingiverse yet, so there's room for one more (and naturally I think mine's more accurate). Really surprised there aren't more of these around, as I'm sure I'm not the only sad old bugger who's wanted one for decades. Since first posting this I've been improving some of the internal contours to assist assembly, so if you downloaded the stl files earlier, make sure you have the latest version before printing anything. Working with older files won't affect the appearance but fit of a few parts will be easier. You'll need to print one of everything, except for all the parts you need more of: Two each of the Flange Cap; Small Knob top; Small Knob Peg; Small Knob Base; Bottom Blanking Disc; Ball Half Outer; Ball Shaft. Four of the clumsily-named Rod End Box. To complete this you'll need a few things you can't print: - a 250mm length of 150mm diameter clear tube with a 3mm wall thickness. I'd recommend acrylic because it's nicer and can be polished (carefully) when it gets scratched, which it's bound to. Polycarbonate, in spite of being shatterproof, is softer and scuffs more easily. And it's a bugger to polish without just enlarging the fuzzy scuffed patch. - four lengths of aluminium rod or tube, 8mm diameter x 300mm long. (5/16 inch dia. will do if that's the way your part of the world swings.) Hobby shops that stock K&S brass and aluminium shapes are the easiest source for this. - a cheap little round meter. Search on Evilbay for "SO-45 Panel Meter"
