Erik Sigurdsson III slowly opened his eyes to find himself lying in his Cairn, his chest creaking as it filled with air for what felt like an eternity. As he sat up, he gazed around at the stone walls that had once protected him and now seemed to be closing in. His armor lay strewn about, its steel glinting dully through a layer of rust, while his blades hung still, their hilts worn smooth by time. A faint scent of decay clung to his cloak and clothing, which were beginning to rot away like the very fabric of his existence. Yet, Erik was alive. Not even death could hold him back now. He rose from his stone bed, his movements stiff but determined. As he looked at himself in the dim light, he smiled grimly. The DM had given him permission to play an Undead Fighter, and now he was ready to take on the world of 5e. With a re-flavored Outlander background, Erik was a human from a distant land, one who had been outcast by society. He stood tall, his eyes burning with a fierce intensity as he gazed out into the unknown. The civilized kingdoms would soon learn what it meant to face a Lord out of time. And when they did, Erik would be ready, his beard stained red with the blood of the Vanished, his legend born anew.
