TGV Atlantique
thingiverse
The TGV Atlantique is a high-speed electric train made by the SNCF, capable of reaching speeds up to 300 kilometers per hour. Introduced in 1989 with the opening of the first line of the LGV Atlantique, it was the second generation of TGV trains. The exterior design of this model is characterized: by its "Atlantic" grey and blue livery; by more streamlined locomotives; by longer train cars (10 coaches instead of eight). Other significant differences between these trains and the TGV Sud-Est are: an installed power of 8800 kW, compared to 6400 kW for the TGV Sud-Est; the use of synchronous motors, where only the axles of the end locomotives are motorized; as a result, the compartments at both ends of coaches 1 and 10, above the adjacent axles to the previously motorized locomotives, have been equipped for passengers; interior arrangements have also been revised, including spaces designed for families. TGV Atlantique trains can only be coupled in Unit Multiple. Roger Tallon is the designer of the original version's livery and interior design, succeeding Jacques Cooper. The latter was responsible for designing the silhouette, as well as the first TGV.
