In the Terrafugia Industrial Design Challenge entry, I focused on reducing frontal area and optimizing airflow for the TF-X vehicle. To achieve this, I prioritized clean air supply to the rear ducted fan and gave the design a more aircraft-like appearance. I also decided to use only three wheels, with two at the front and one at the rear, to reduce weight and improve aero-efficiency. The front wheels are concealed within the nose-section during flight, retracting into position when driving on asphalt. This design maintains the vehicle's streamlined aesthetics while enhancing performance and fuel efficiency. However, my model omits rear wheels, suspension arms, propellers in drive mode, lights, and other details for time constraints.
