Textured Rubik cube
thingiverse
Liked tombolinux "Cubo di Rubik" model but didn't want to use stickers and didn't like the dotted pattern for a monochromatic cube, so I remixed it in order to have different textures in each face. Used textures that doesn't need center pieces orientation. I'm pretty satisfied with the final print, all center pieces rotation work well. It gets a little stuck on rotation but due to free pieces and not due to friction. It has some minor issues: - I'm not entirely satisfied with topmost layer, texture is distinguishable from the rest but the pattern is not so clear and it has a lot of tiny filaments debris (it's cleanable though). - I would have liked some better definition on some face patterns, on some tests I run I got better results, but it was difficult to preview the result or compare on Blender - It turned out that original model is not 100% cubic. So, some faces are rectangular. It's almost not noticeable on a single piece, but depending on orientation, when the cube is mixed there are some misalignments. (see pictures). I need better Blender skills to build the whole model from scratch and fix that dimension little differences. Print took about 27 hours, I believe I'm including blender file, in case you need some minor adjustments
