Texture Painting an Ax Exercise
sketchfab
Part of the CGCookie.com Fundamentals of Texturing course is uploaded here for grading purposes. The exercise involved handpainting a texture for a given axe model using techniques covered so far in the course. Two sittings were required to tackle this exercise, with the first session focused on the metal parts, which did not meet my expectations as it resembles stone more than metal. I was able to complete the wood and wrapping around the handle much quicker during the second sitting, taking a looser approach. Overall, I am quite proud of my first-time texture painting despite feeling restricted by the 512x512 required texture resolution.
