Textile fastener
thingiverse
This two-part device, resembling a blue lock and red star, allows you to securely grip any fabric type without damaging it. Ideal for various home applications, this gadget has numerous uses, such as creating stretchers with six fasteners, hammocks using two, emergency tents with four fasteners and a plastic sheet, greenhouses with clear plastic, and flexible food transport boxes with four fasteners. It can also improve tarps by fixing popped-out grommets, joining multiple tarps together, creating custom waterproof covers, or holding tarps for alternative purposes like rainwater collection or boat protection. STL files are available for 3D printing both the star and lock in various materials using open-source rapid prototypers like RepRap. To use it, wrap the lock flat against the fabric and pass through the star's hole. Rotate the lock 90 degrees and secure in place. To remove, reverse steps. The lock and star have multiple holes for tie lines or nails, based on your application. Feedback for improvement is welcomed.
