Write a word and print it out! This isn't just a 3D tool; it's a design maker. The demo files are simply examples; click "Open in Customizer" to start creating your own unique design. The Text Tool uses OpenSCAD's text function through the MakerBot Customizer, allowing you to create a quick 3D model of any word or phrase. Letters can be imported for use in other design programs as part of a larger project. See how it works with the example picture, which shows simple designs using Tinkercad's Text Tool output, including a trophy cup shape from rocketboy's model at thingiverse.com/thing:82860. Thanks to tbuser and atartanian for creating the Customizer that makes this tool possible! Atartanian also came up with the idea of adding a base web with offset/inset features. We're grateful to wstein for organizing the Google font list into something useful in OpenSCAD. Follow me on Twitter at twitter.com/mathgrrl. Check out my Hacktastic blog at mathgrrl.com/hacktastic.
