Texas 3D Fishing Lure
thingiverse
I am totally hooked on fishing. I've been dying to craft my own custom lure since I first discovered the incredible world of 3D printing almost a year ago. Now that I've finally managed to carve out some quality time, I'm excited to show off my brand new design. And guess what? My first test catch was a real showstopper - as you can see from the pic! That's proof it really works! By the way, I've used this bad boy on no less than 4 fishing trips now (at different spots), and have managed to land a fish every single time. Don't forget to tie a tight knot when you're using this baby - once you see it in action, you'll never want to let it slip through your fingers! Instructions Get ready to create! I used a Stratasys uPrint SE Plus machine at work to print with low density fill in ABS plastic. You can keep the design all white and paint it any color you like - go wild! I intentionally paused the build twice, swapping from Ivory to Red to Ivory material along the way. To give my lure some eyes, I gave a coat of black nail polish a try, while a clear topcoat seal did wonders for finishing the whole thing off. Check out how effortlessly this thing floats - the photos speak for themselves! Don't sweat getting the necessary hardware - just pop on down to your local hardware store, and swing by a place that carries some decent fishing gear. You'll be well-stocked and ready to hit the water in no time.
