TEVO Tornado MKS Gen 1.4 adapter
thingiverse
I decided to upgrade my printer with an MKS Gen 1.4 & TMC2100s after experiencing numerous issues with my original board, primarily to resolve the salmon skin issue that plagued me. Newer Tevo Tornado printer boards employ a different stepper controller and do not respond to smoother boards. Additionally, it's essential to select the correct TMC2100s model, as most require advanced soldering skills to switch steppers into spreadCycle mode from stealthCycle mode. For those considering a case upgrade for their MKS Gen L, be aware that existing cases are available but can take days to print. In contrast, this option prints in just 30 minutes and has the added benefit of being shorter, allowing it to fit snugly within the original case without any modifications required. Alignment may present some challenges, but the board fits seamlessly inside the original case, even retaining access to the USB port through a clever angled placement technique.
