Tevo Tornado All-in-One Conversion Instructions ===================================================== Remix Source: <https://cad.onshape.com/documents/315d7fd4f0a79aa0d731c4ad/w/9797db0837679d28c3524d66/e/574f4dc8f0f1376d107d85c4> Warning: This conversion involves moving mains-wired components and requires caution. Consult a professional electrician before proceeding. Wiring -------- 1. Cut and solder wiring as necessary to complete the conversion. 2. The loom and plug for the heated bed are retained, but the loom and plug for the hot end need to be reconfigured due to the dual extrusion setup. 3. Some wires may need to be extended or shortened; it's recommended to install the mainboard first. 4. Wiring from various sections can be cut and spliced into others for a neater installation. LCD ---- 1. The LCD case is based on MightyNozzle's design (<https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2813298>), but with a modified base to fit the 4020 extrusion. 2. Mount the LCD ribbon cable securely, as it may be too short depending on its position. Power Supply ------------- 1. The power supply components are sealed together for safety and use Elektrolenin's design (<https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3221960>) as inspiration. 2. The standard loom and connector are maintained for the heated bed, but this may put the plug in a less-than-ideal position; a part is provided to address this issue. 3. Run an earthing cable from the PSU earth terminal to the main frame of the printer. MKS Mount ------------ 1. The electronics sit at the rear right of the printer under the moving bed, and the lid flexes into the printer's frame for easy access. 2. This system has enough room to fit typical heat sinks on top of the stepper motor drivers. 3. The bed levelling screws may need to be replaced with shorter ones depending on how far they are tensioned. Cable Management ----------------- 1. Three cable management pieces are provided: * One attaches to the z-axis roller bracket and moves the wiring to the right-hand side of the x-axis gantry. * The router piece bolts onto the printer's right foot to curve the hot end/extruder wiring out of the way of the moving y carriage and bed. * The final piece clips onto the y stepper motor to prevent heated bed wires from snagging on it. Hardware ---------- 1. Where existing nuts and bolts are not reused, this conversion generally requires M4x8-12mm bolts and tee nuts to suit the extrusion frame of the printer. Visual Reference ----------------- 1. The provided pictures should provide a clear understanding of the conversion process. 2. Further footage can be seen in the companion video (<https://youtu.be/ag7b9jOhlPY>).
