After seeing several other gimbal designs that just couldn't compare to this one in terms of size and strength, I decided to give modeling my own design a shot using Fusion360. Since I happened to have some shelf pins on hand, I figured why not? There are probably better designs out there, but this is the one I'm currently using, and it's done the trick - no more z-banding for me. You might need to tinker with it a bit before you can get it installed just right. One of my main goals in designing this gimbal was to make it easier to square up the two mounts by fixing it firmly to the frame. I took my measurements from my printer, so there could be slight differences, but it's worked out pretty well. The shelf pins I used are these, and you can find them on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Rok-Hardware-Shelf-Spoon-Nickel/dp/B00XWUQO3M/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1506554845&sr=8-4&keywords=shelf+pins To get the shelf pins to work with this gimbal, I had to grind down the ends a bit so they wouldn't rub against the outer rings. If you don't have access to a grinder, a metal file might do the trick - just be prepared for some elbow grease!
