This is optional.\r\n\r\n*BLTouch Related:*\r\n-M3 nut (4x).\r\n-M3 x 14 (2x).\r\n-M3 x 6 (2x).\r\n\r\n*Direct drive mount:*\r\n-M4 nut (2x).\r\n-M4 x 14 (2x).\r\n-M3 x 8 (4x) (could probably use the stock hotend mounting screws?)\r\n-If you aren't using a BLTouch, use an arbitrary length of M3 screws with nuts to connect the stepper bracket to the hotend bracket where the BLTouch would normally go.\r\n\r\n*Installation:*\r\n-The hotend bracket has holes for low profile screws securing the wheels to the X axis carriage. Line these up with said screws and bring the bracket in at an angle.\r\nThe bracket should firmly press into place.\r\n-Drop M4 nuts into hotend bracket.\r\n-Bring stepper bracket into position and loosely fit with M4 screws in left and right holes.\r\n-Drop M3 screws through hotend and stepper brackets below where the motor sits. At this point you can install the BLTouch.\r\nYou might have to trim the screw fixing the bottom wheel to the X axis carriage to make room for the BLTouch wiring.\r\nPut M3 nuts on these screws if you aren't installing a BLTouch.\r\n-Install M5 screw if you decided to drill a hole in your X axis carriage. \r\n-Tighten all screws present.\r\nYou'll want a long hex key for the M3 screws securing the brackets together in the Z direction.\r\n-Install hotend assembly where it normally goes.\r\nMake sure the PTFE tube is in it.\r\nI don't know how long it has to be, just trim it until the extruder fits.\r\n-Fix extruder and stepper motor to stepper bracket with the JST header facing right. The stock motor is compatible with this conversion, but I recommend a smaller one. \r\n-Secure pneumatic fittings with zip ties or printed clips.\r\n-Install cable chain (if applicable).\r\nScrew goes through one of the open holes in a link to connect to the extruder bracket attached to the Z lead screw. \r\n\r\nSTEP files of parts included. I doubt I'll be making any modifications to this Thing, so remixes are encouraged.\r\n\r\nMight have to reverse the extruder direction, but I don't remember doing so.\r\nEsteps won't change. Retraction at 1mm at 30mm/s works great for me using this conversion.\r\nYou will lose about 20mm of Z print height if you install the cable chain.\r\n
