Hey guys!\r\n\r\nIf you're a Taratula Pro owner who's got ABL for their printer, then you'll want to pay attention because your Spare Z endstop is about to become redundant. This print will give you the opportunity to use your stock endstop and cables as a filament runout sensor, and it won't cost you a dime!\r\n\r\nI've attached two versions of the file for you.\r\n\r\nVersion 1 relies on four 4x2mm button magnets to keep the cover shut. It's also designed so that the top cover can be printed in a translucent material, allowing you to see the indicator LED.\r\n\r\nVersion 2 uses two M3x6 screws (which come with the printer) and has a hole in the cover, so you don't need to print it in a special material to see the LED.\r\n\r\nBoth versions can be used without the front cover, but keep in mind that you won't need any extra hardware for this setup. Simply use some PTFE tube (pushfit) to connect both ends of the sensor, with the output end going into your extruder. For best results, print the body flat against the bed and the front of the cover facing down.\r\n\r\nWhen it comes to both versions, you'll need to extend the original Z endstop wires by snipping them off at any point and adding length as needed. This will depend on how you plan to manage your cables. Once you've done that, plug the filament runout sensor into the Z_max slot.\r\n\r\nTo get started, edit your firmware to include the Filament runout sensor. I found this video from Teaching Tech to be super helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwHpXaj_6xE. Just follow the instructions and configure the Z_max slot for our runout sensor.\r\n\r\nGo to Configuration.h and set up the Filament_runout_sensor as shown in the included photos.\r\n\r\nNext, head over to pins_ramps.h and make the following changes:\r\n1. Comment out the Z_max_pin,\r\n2. Find Fil_runout_pin and change it to 19.\r\n\r\nThis setup has been tested on the stock MKS GenL that came with the TTPro, but I'm sure the instructions will be similar if you've changed your board. Just double-check and let everyone know if it's different for you!
