Tevo Tarantula / OctoPrint / Endoscope Camera Mount
thingiverse
Long ago, Amazon was a treasure trove for those who provided honest reviews in exchange for products. The online retailer put an end to that practice, but back then, one of the items I reviewed was an endoscope camera. I used it a few times to review it, but it has been sitting on a shelf since. That changed when I discovered OctoPrint / OctoPi. It turns out this camera works perfectly with OctoPrint - just follow the directions on https://github.com/foosel/OctoPrint/wiki/Webcams-known-to-work. The challenge was finding a way to mount the camera. After 10 minutes in Sketchup, I designed a suitable mount that took 30 minutes to print. The camera fits snugly at a 22.5° angle and has a guide on the rear to prevent pivoting. The mount is secured to the rail slightly above the build plate using a 4mm screw and a t-nut. The built-in LED lights of the endoscope are not enough to light up the build plate, so you'll need to install a lighting fixture as well. I've uploaded the corrected version after discovering that this model wasn't watertight, despite my initial assumption.
