Assembly Guide: https://youtu.be/Nnd1CE56lIc *If you use this, please tell me if you run into any clearance issues!* I will be happy to help fix them for you. I designed this around my upgrades, so it should work in most cases. *Please give suggestions for improvements, or for something else I should model!* This is a redesign of MSA's modular X carriage for the Tevo Tarantula. I also used the belt holder design from Elzariant's X carriage. It addresses some of the problems raised by MSA's design, namely that it's narrower (58mm effective width, so you will get at least 220mm of travel or more), and has two wheels at the top rather than at the bottom. It also lacks a rear wall, so it should allow for things to be mounted on the back of the X axis rail. *Should print in orientation as shown in the blue Thingiverse model pictures, aside from belt.stl made by Elzariant.* ***The top inside M5 bolts on the stock Z carriages are too long, and will likely extend too far in and collide with the belt holders.*** To remedy this, thread some of the extra M5 nuts that came with the printer all the way onto the M5 bolts. This should shorten the amount that it sticks out the back enough to prevent the collision. If not, add another washer or two. Or just remove the wheel entirely, it's probably not that crucial to keep it. *The "Limit Switch Bolt Offset" part is required if you do not wish to shorten the M2 bolts for the X-limit switch.* I recommend printing with at least 4 perimeter walls, for strength. *I recommend using a lock nut or washer for the wheel tensioner, to prevent the bolt from backing out and loosening the bottom wheel.* *With the most recent version, there are no longer any parts that require supports!* *Note the length of the M4 bolts being used in the 6 mounting holes on the front/back, as they may scratch your rail if they are too long. I tried to increase the distance slightly, but anything longer than 14mm is likely too long.* *Should only require parts that came with your printer, as well as some additional M4 nuts and bolts.* *The back plate is not required, but recommended if you do not need to attach anything directly to the back of the rail (such as a single Z in the center of the X rail rather than the side).* *The integrated E3D fan duct I have added to the files ran into clearance issues in my first design, and I modified the design accordingly, but I still haven't printed the model again to test it. Please understand that it may collide with the lower wheel on the Z axis gantry, print at your own discretion.* If you use this design for cooling, please leave a comment or send me a message to let me know how it fits! Fasteners required: 3 M5 bolts from printer 4 M5 split washers from printer 2 M5 bolts from printer 2 existing M2 bolts from printer M4x12 bolts for attaching modular pieces (3 minimum for hot end attachment) M4 washers optional, but recommended With backplate: 11 M4x20 bolts 13 M4 nuts Without backplate: 5 M4x30 bolts preferred (M4x20 ok) 1 M4x20 bolt 7 M4 nuts
