I appreciate the use of transparent acrylic panels for the mainboard and LCD control board. It's great to be able to see my electronics in action - not just the mechanics, but also the electrical components themselves. The issue with this setup is that the sides are exposed, which poses a significant risk for electronics, particularly when working with metal tools like forceps, Xacto knives, feeler gauges, and calipers. I've had close calls several times where a stray tool almost shorted out my board. My solution was to design a wrap-around enclosure that balances ease of use with easy installation. To install it, simply remove the rear plate and slip the wrap around the hex stand-offs. The wrap's edges are designed to hook onto the stand-offs, securing itself in place once the rear plate is reattached. One side remains open for effortless access to the SD card, while a slot at the top or bottom allows for easy control wire management, depending on how you orient the wrap.
