TEVO Tarantula Gantry Brace
thingiverse
This gantry brace, a table top leg designed using Tinkercad, can be easily edited or modified by visiting https://www.tinkercad.com/things/jFlSrot7DNI. The goal was to create a gantry brace for the TEVEO Tarantula DIY 3D Printer kit that doesn't require bolting or screwing it to a surface like other designs do. Instead, this mounts directly to the gantry uprights via an 8mm M5 bolt (link: http://amzn.to/2fKuhSS) and maker rail cleats, which are essentially flat nuts (link: http://amzn.to/2gd1jdc). If you're looking for unique maker swag, be sure to visit http://Swag.DIY3Dtech.com. You'll need M5 8mm Length Low Profile Hex Socket Machine Screws (Pack of 100) (http://amzn.to/2fKuhSS) and Pre-Assembly Square Nuts Flat M5 T Nut for 2020 Aluminum Extrusions Pack of 100 (http://amzn.to/2gd1jdc). To build and install this gantry brace, you'll need to print two side pieces, insert the M5 bolts, loosely attach the cleat/square nut, and slide them on from the bottom of the printer. Then, allow the printer to sit flat on the table and tighten it with an Allen wrench. Print settings: Printer - Just About Any; Rafts - No; Supports - No; Resolution - .3 or better (you choose); Infill - 20 to 50%; Notes - As this design doesn't hold weight, the gantry brace helps prevent rocking or tipping by increasing the surface area in contact with the table.
