I really liked the BB version of the gimbal, but I couldn't find the right size BB's in my area. So I made this remix, which allows you to customize the ball diameter and adds a bonus feature. Normally, the original version acts like a CV joint. In this remix there is also a "slide" version included, which allows the gimbals to slide on top of each other. This creates a powerful combination between a CV joint and an oldham coupler, essentially allowing full freedom of movement. I included two rendered versions of the scad as an example. I have successfully used these with 5/32 inch bicycle ball bearings. Here's how it works: there are two STL files obtained by editing the original gimbals and removing the BB holes, making them completely flat. The two files are imported into scad, where the holes are recreated according to input parameters.
