I created a template for cutting a 1/8th inch (3mm) aluminum sheet using this design. It can be printed as well. In this version I've utilized a lower duct under the gantry so you'll need to lower the extruder. This is why the sensor mount can be printed separately. I've uploaded additional files to eliminate this but you won't be able to get the lower duct under the gantry. I decided that the cooling was great, but I wanted access to the set screw for the heat breaks. So I turned the extruder around and also designed a blower duct because I wasn't happy with the tiny 30mm fan's cooling. (As I suspected) The lower duct only needs bed supports because I designed it to be printed without. I believe I used .2mm layer height. (The connection points need beefing up, but you can print as is and superglue it together.) Print the Front duct with the extruder face down using bed supports as well. I've included a version with built-in supports if needed for the mounting slot. Otherwise this was also designed to not need additional supports. I've redesigned the duct supports to include an air filter. I just use an air conditioning filter and cut it to size, but you might be able to use something like a coffee filter. The benefit here is it should aid in filtering your print fumes and protect your fans from getting dirty. If you don't want the filter then you'll need to shim the lower part as its spaced for accommodation of the filter. I've printed this thing, but haven't assembled it yet. The fit seems perfectly tight :). (Update 5/16/2017) Okay thinkers, I've finally added more material to the rear ducts attachment screw, although it clicked in fine for me and I've been using it without a screw since I uploaded the original. I've also removed two of the supports on the lower duct to give more air flow. Although again the original has had great cooling for bridging. I haven't tested either yet. I'm going to be converting to direct drive extruders and I'm going to expand this design to accommodate them. All in all, I was very satisfied with this design and its functionality, however, I have some 3mm filament that Bowden extruders have trouble pushing through the PTFE tubing. I also want to use at least one filament width sensor and they work best on direct drive extruders. (Update 5/16/2017) I've uploaded the direct drive files, but haven't tested them yet. Will print test and remix soon.
