TEVO Tarantula Display/Control Box Case

TEVO Tarantula Display/Control Box Case

I designed a display/control box mount that attaches to the top of my Tevo Tarantula, minimizing the need for extra mounts and screws. I printed the main case at .2 layer height with supports, but Cura's auto-support feature placed them in channels for the sliding back door and unexpectedly on the recessed spider. Removing these supports with a metal engineer's ruler worked perfectly. The back door was printed flat using the same settings as the main case and only required smoothing of the edges that would come into contact with the main body, which I achieved using 1200 grit wet and dry sandpaper. The fixing holes for the board were designed to use M3 machine screws, four in total, and I recommend clearing them by hand with a 2.5 mm drill before attaching the board to ensure they're clear and free from debris. I also used M3 screws to tap the holes before attempting to attach the board. The holes to mount it to the frame were made for M4 screws, but you can likely use M3 instead. I added support to the internal display mount hole bosses and gave the M4 holes additional clearance after printing my design, which I felt would improve its overall performance. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this design and if there's anything that needs changing or adding. As a newcomer to 3D printing, I'm excited to share my creation in hopes it will help others overcome similar challenges.
