Part of my Tevo Black Death build, featuring a custom motor mount and endplate designed specifically for dual Z modification. This upgrade replaces the original red CNC aluminum piece atop the side pillars. With this design, the lower lead screw is completely free to move without encountering any binding issues at the glide nut on the X-carriage. What's more, it allows users to utilize a second stepper driver, thereby significantly reducing motor stress. As this modification is still in progress, I'm actively working on rebuilding the z-axis to minimize z-binding and wobble problems that plagued my original single-belt design. With the latter setup, attempting to deconstrain the lower lead screw results in belt tension pulling the lead screw out of alignment, creating a force that tries to flex the lead screw. Additionally, this modification eliminates uneven force distribution on the top bearing of the lead screw, ultimately leading to better longevity and reduced maintenance requirements.
