A Customized Spool Design for FTC Team 3736's Serious Business This modified spool was inspired by user dstewartrobots' original design, which I enhanced to meet the needs of FTC Team 3736's Serious Business. The model features 8mm countersunk screw heads on both top and bottom surfaces. This allows a standard Tetrix long screw to pass through from one side, leaving sufficient clearance for it to engage with parts on the other side. It includes two integrated holes for medium-sized screws that can be drilled into the flat area of a bar, providing added stability. Furthermore, a small hole is provided for threading a string or cable for easy handling. Print Settings: * Printer Brand: Ultimaker * Printer Model: Ultimaker 2 * Rafts: Not Required * Supports: Not Required * Infill Density: 50% (Dense) Notes: This spool was printed on an Ultimaker 2+ with a 0.6 mm nozzle, using Normal Quality preset (0.15 mm) and grey PLA filament. Slicing software used was Cura 2.3.1. Post-Printing: Clean-up is a crucial step in preparing the spool for use. Focus on the following key areas: * Filing the interior holes to remove any excess material strands or overhangs. * Drilling out the two top holes using a 1/6" drill bit (or equivalent). * Opening up the wire hole on the side of the top section. These tasks can be completed within 10 minutes using basic tools such as an xacto knife, sandpaper, and a small file.
