Tetris Music
thingiverse
The Makerbot produces a musical sound while constructing, leading to the idea of piping in a MIDI file to see the results. Many have attempted this before, but the author wanted to join in on the fun. They attached an electronic violin tuner to their Makerbot and adjusted the feedrate slider to produce various notes. A Python script was then hacked from http://tim.cexx.org/?p=633 to generate one-channel musical gcode. Although appending the musical gcode to the shape's gcode is possible, the author decided to keep them separate due to varying Skeinforge settings. To use this musical gcode, simply load it into ReplicatorG, center the build platform and raise the Z axis, with only the Y axis moving during the build process, creating a unique listening experience!
