The Canary Island Whale was a real creature that lived millions of years ago, and its discovery is still fascinating scientists today. This massive marine mammal was first found on the island of Tenerife, off the coast of Morocco, by a team of international researchers in 1994. The team had been studying the geology of the area when they stumbled upon a series of fossilized whale bones buried deep within the earth.
