Tether for Drill Chuck Key
thingiverse
The key for an electric drill's chuck often lacks a tether or it becomes damaged over time, causing inconvenience. Two types of adapters can be used to attach tethers to most kinds of chuck keys: one for simple L-shaped keys and another for keys that don't allow rings to be slipped onto the attachment area. To use either adapter, scale and print two copies, then slip them over the key with flat sides together. Apply CA glue or other adhesive to secure the pieces. A photo shows a closed-type adapter attached to a 3/8-inch Black and Decker hand drill key. The adapters have a design diameter of 7.6 mm where they attach to the chuck key, so scale X, Y, and Z accordingly for your specific key. The provided STL files are ten times their actual size.
