Testors Paint Mixer
thingiverse
I often find myself with small bottles of paint that require mixing - particularly when they've been sitting idle for an extended period. Hand-shaking only gets me so far, but I've discovered it's not the most efficient method and takes a considerable amount of time to adequately mix paint that has settled. To resolve this issue, I experimented with various iterations of 3D printed blades. Initially, I designed them to thread onto a 6/32 long bolt, but soon realized I could print the shaft and blade simultaneously. After some trial and error, I landed on a 3-blade fan design that strikes an optimal balance between sturdiness and compactness. Unfortunately, I'm unable to capture photos of the mixer in use as it requires both hands to operate - one to hold the bottle and the other to drill.
