Test plate with hinged flap

Test plate with hinged flap

thingiverse

I conducted a test run using 1.75mm stainless steel PLA to determine if I could create a functioning hinged flap in a single print. The attempt was successful on the first try. The flap pivots on an integral pin, and the print consists of three distinct parts: the main body (which features numerous holes for dimensional accuracy testing), the pivot pin, and the flap itself. This experiment was purely out of curiosity, with no intention to create a valuable item other than demonstrating what 3D printing can achieve.
