Test jig (clamp)

Test jig (clamp)

I discovered this innovative test jig design in South Korea many years ago, and I'm excited to share it with you now. This test jig, or clamp, boasts two particularly impressive features: When fully extended, the lead is completely removed from the testing area - this allows for easy and unhindered access to the tested object. When closing, the final 10mm of movement in the test arm occur strictly vertically. This ingenious design combines the advantages of a press (where movement is only in a vertical direction but access to the detail is limited) with those of a rotating clamp (where movement is rotational, providing excellent access to the detail but approaching the surface by rotation).
