Test Dial Indicator Holder for IKO Linear Rail 3/8" diameter

I am attaching a 3/8" (9.52mm) diameter plunger style test dial indicator to my Cetus MK2's 12mm wide IKO linear rails LWL12B. This handy tool allows me to measure and fix printer axis problems, such as bad belts, eccentric toothed pulleys, and homing limit switch issues. To achieve minimum clearance from the back of my Mitutoyo dial gauge to the linear rail, I designed this setup. As a result, I get extremely accurate 0.001 mm measurements. However, please note that my dial gauge may be different in size compared to other brands, which could affect the accuracy. For a smoother thread clamping action, I recommend using Teflon plumbing tape. I used this test dial indicator to measure the sensing accuracy of an LJ12A3-Z/BX inductive sensor for axis homing. Moving the linear bearing block past the inductive sensor has a trigger accuracy of 2 or 3 microns when triggered slowly at 0.05 mm/second. This is particularly important for the Z-axis and bed level probing when printing layers under 0.05 mm without using a raft. -Peter
