Test Cylinders
thingiverse
To create pistons, I initially designed large cylinders with core sizes decreasing from 0.5mm to 5mm, reduced by 0.1 each time. The 0.45mm size wouldn't print, while the 0.9mm was too small for use. Successful fits included 4.5mm fitting in 5mm, 3.6mm in 4mm, 2.7mm in 3mm, and 1.8mm in 2mm. Tighter fits occur as sizes decrease. I used 123D Design to create the model, saved as an STL, and imported it into MakerWare for printing.
